Isn't it possible to get the top spot in month if all the conditions are right? What methods should we do to hold a high position for long? What are the factors that can push you to the top quickly? domains, keywords, content, or other factors? Share your opinions with us!
Yes, you can get sites ranking on the first page within a month, I have had sites in the top 5 for their main term within 24 hours of being indexed (not crawled, but listed in their index), in under 7 days total from being crawled. Building lots of high quality links, not themed, but from high PR and all one way links, at a rate of 20 per day until the site starts ranking -- so if it takes 10 days in that time I have around 200 links pointing towards it. I only purchase keywordhere.com or keywordhere.org , and only go for low competition / high search terms, with a low SoC score for easy ranking. For holding the position, for many of the sites you won't have to do anything, once its up its up. Some of them you will have to occasionally throw more links at them, but that is about it. I will not be going into this further, as this is what I use to pay the bills, but should give you some ideas.
Getting thekeywordyouaretargetting.com can go a long way to getting on page 1, my best sites all use this rule. If .com is not available get .net or .org, for get the rest of the domain extensions.
The simplest way to get it - Target lowest to non-competitive keywords. This case is almost not possible for medium to high degree keywords, unless that site has some links from big known such as CNN, Microsoft, Joomla, etc.
It can be done if there is no competition for the phrase but it is impossible for a highly competitive search phrase.
I just submit my posts to top bookmarking site and after few weeks, I get my site ranking in top position for certain keyword.. for example: http://www.bing.com/search?q=smf+referral+mod+for+smf+1.1.11&go=&form=QBLH&filt=all&qs=n I got second ranking in Bing..
It is very possible. Start off with a domain with the targeted keywords. Target longtail keywords or build a site around them. If it is a product site have at least a few pages of content to put up initially if it is a blog bloag at least 1-3 times a day. Build backlinks to all your pages from social bookmarking, forum sigs, articles, blog comments on relevant sites and other places you can leave a link. As you see searches com in on those long tail search terms keep targeting those search phrases but start adding more competitive search terms in you anchor text.
I agree it does depend on keyword. If you are searching within a niche market it will be much easier. If the term is open ended then it would be very difficult. For instance... google "vehicle wraps dothan" and my site is #1. Google "vehicle wraps alabama" and my site is the 5th one listed. The point is the more defined the keyword phrase the easier it is to rank higher.
Yeah, in order to let seach engine extracts more pages, submiting to bookmarks is one of useful ways. I usually choose some bookmarks like redict, delicious, digg, folkd, etc. These bookmarks can also bring me some PV, but not much.
I agree with you, in some aspect, old domain is advantageous in ranking. The domain of our website is about 10 year old, PR has reached 6, now I find it's more easy to make a high ranking than before.
it all really depends on the keyword. Domain age also seems to play a role but I seem to rank pretty well if I do some good keyword research
for less competitive this is possible but for high competitive this is not possible.. for this you have too good quality backlinks
It's not possible in all cases,in some cases you can achieve this if your keywords have low competition. But for highly competitive keywords it would be very very difficult to get in the first page within 1st month.
