If a keyword is not very competitive, you can rank in a week or less. Just get a few one way links with anchortext.
Yes....it is possible to rank higher for less used/less searched keywords by writing good contents on the same repeatedly. But if the keyword is hardly used for search, I fear you would not be able to derive good traffic from it....at least in near future. Regards, RightMan
There are actually a lot of high traffic keyphrases that do not have a lot of competition where you would be able to rank very quickly. I'd recommend using Aaron Wall's suggestion tool on seobook.com
I've added content to a completely new website and had it indexed within hours. The keywords were long tail keywords and not competitive, so that helped.
although you can rank quickly for some keywords which are not at all competitive but i don't think it can be in 2-3 days.
If i use a long tail keywords this can't help me to get traffic for my site. But can rank on first page . So what can you advice or can you give me an idea which keywords do i need to use for a free word game site?
You can have Google index your site and possibly even rank using social bookmarking such as Digg. Make sure you have unique content though.
You're settin' yourself wrong goals. SEO is a long-time strategy. Think about the postitions you want to achieve in 6 months and develop your site gradually. Even if you manage to rank yourself for long keywords quickly, it will bring you little traffic.
Need more and more backlinks or high quality backlinks, the keyword could have a good position, and it at least need several days.
You can, If as soon as your site is live there are 1000 authorative website link to you all with pr 7 above...
Yes if you choose good and long tail keyword and put that keyword in anchor tag then it is rank well in few days

I have ranked on long-tail keywords within a day or two but if you want to rank for a keyword with traffic you are going to be looking at a few months to a year.
