I am tracking the rank of the domain name of my site, without the .co.uk and the www.

when i type it into Google it shows up 5th, but whenever I use this tool it shows up as N/A. ive been checking it on and off for 2 months but it just never seems to work.

ive entered the same keyword 4 times in this tool, changing the url each time like this:
    http://www.domainname.co.uk/
    www.domainname.co.uk
    domainname.co.uk
    domainname.co.uk/index.html

but all show as N/A. i really dont know what i am doing wrong, does anyone have any ideas? i'll pm the domain name to anyone if it helps.

    Tom

Its possible that on the datacenter where the api pulls from, you don't rank well enough to show up (say you are ranked 1005)

I would try an established site and see if you still get N/A...If you do, then get a new API

What's the exact URL/keyword combo you are trying it with?

thanks for the info guys. i tried another site and that worked fine, so at least i know im doing things right now. this data center flux, is this ever likely to even itself out?

ive not touched that site in a while but i will be working on it soon and i'd like to know how its ranking, would it be better to just get a new API key?

A new API key won't change the flux...Basically it just means you rank differently on one datacenter then another and is quite common.

If you want to check multiple datacenters at the same time and know your approximate position you can go to http://www.mcdar.net/dance/index.php

It is a manual process though
