I cracked the top 50 for the biggest keyword in my industry. There are 143 million results! My whole site is based around this word. If i can get to top 10, i'm sure my traffic would explode. What would you to try to get ranked higher for this keyword? My whole site is based off this word so every page uses this word probably at a minimum of 3 times. My site is almost 2 years old now and I'm sure age factor plays a huge role in getting ranked for such a competitive term. Would you do anything to speed up the rankings or let time do its thing?
Its tough to say. There are some good programs out there that analyze sites to see what they're doing that you're not in terms of SEO. You could try to pickup some stuff from them. Overall you'll probably just find that they have more backlinks than you. If your onpage SEO is optimized I dont think theres much else you can do but get more backlinks and keep making fresh content for your viewers.
i only prefer theme base linking. Please try to get more and more links using that particular keyword which your target.
Improve your link popularity...use your target keyword as your anchor text and it'll help you with your SERPs...
if your website is content based, write some quality articles and post them to article directories. If you have tools website or something like this, it would be harder, maybe buying links can be a good solution.
1) check the top 50, look at their link profile to see if it is easy to beat them. Some site is so strong that it is impossible (or just too expensive) to beat i rather put time and recourse to variation of your main keyword
Get more backlinks, including submitting to directories, forums, blogs, article directories, etc. The more popular your website is, the higher rank it will reach. BTW, what's the url of your website or what's the industry it belongs to? And what's the keyword you are targeted.
Well I suppose it depends on what you HAVEN'T done yet Tweak the hell out of the onpages stuff and continue link profile development really... what else is there? Without more in-depth research it is hard to say for sure... have to also look at the competition.. TOTAL core 'instances' (results) may not truly be indicative of the competitiveness of the phrase
Whats your PR? If you get more back links you can increase your PR again and you can surely break into the top 10
I heard that some say If your site has higih PR than other sites for a particular keyword you will be in the top 10 Also PR is also one of the determining factors for Google
If it is in your price range by the domain, ie reallygoodkeywordyouweretalkingabout.com. I use lucidly.com, which is a great domain in the dreaming "industry" and it has brought me a lot of traffic, and also a lot through direct request thatway.
In addition to the backlinks everyone is recommending, try adding more pages of content. I outsource my writing and usually get the writing done at $6.00 per 500-600 word article (Philippines, India, South Africa, etc.). I then optimize it and post it. Content is cheap, however, in addition to the backlinks.
higher the PR, higher the crawling rate, which in turn helps to pass PR to internal page hence you have more chances to rank higher. Thats what i experienced
There are lots of people on this forum that could give you some killer tips that will really work but they would need to see your site. Stick around and keep reading and you will come across them as you browse.
