First of all the amount of searches done has nothing to do with how competitive a term is. SEO and getting to the front pages is about solving the highest percentage of the algorithm as you can... along with obtainiung inbound anchor text links to match your terms. Competing pages is a very simple measure,,but its only one SMALL measure only. The page title tag being correctly optimized is much much more important, all things considered. Next you need to add quotes to search queries to determine the correct competing page count. Results 1 - 10 of about 3,040,000 for "seo services" Results 1 - 10 of about 4,920,000 for "john smith" While there are more competing pages for john smith the competition level would not be as high as the term seo services since the seo services firms would be able to SEO their own sites to a high degree.... where as john smith sites probably do not have as many that are as well optimized sites comparatively. Anyone posting about terms 4, 5, 6 or more( people do this???) words or more in length should seriously consider thinking before posting as the terms are non-competitive in all honesty. Also posting your keyword link here in a thread will only see DP rank above you in the SERPs
who did that? wasnt me? those links are to the google searches for the terms to not our site. edit, ignore i see what you mean. and anyway often, but not always.. and not forever. take your point though, be interesting to watch
I am sorry but I have to disagree on this... Amount of Searches is one of the factors to consider in measuring KW competitiveness... Peace Out...
I created a page on my website at 2am on a Sunday and it was number one by 6pm the same evening. It was not a new site, but a new page on an established site.
mr drab. how the devil are you? havent seen you around since the early days of seocontest2008? clearly there are some of us that can do this, and some that, well, are less confident
this is entirely possible if you choose a long-tail keyword without competition, otherwise forget about it. SEO takes time and effort, at least in my somewhat limited experience
Keywords do not compete...webpages and websites do.... The competition is not in the keyword or its queries......single word keywords are most difficult to obtain rankings for and yet do not drive sales or leads.... so you will find two word terms much more effective, and more difficult to obtain upper results for..... The competition is getting your webpage to compete and win against the other pages vying for upper results for any keyword term. Try ranking for "seo" which has far less searches than "poker"
I don't think it's possible. You will hardly get fully indexed in 3 days Well, if there is absolutely no competition, who knows maybe it is possible after all.
Well I've had one of my sites for about 5 months now and only now I am seeing that it has landed on the fifth page for that keyword. Its also a pr3 now. I'm guessing in another year or so with the right optimization I could hope to get it on the first page
Anyone promising #1 ranking is probably targeting a rediculous term that nobody searches for.... So goes the game of seo
Absolutely to the point frd ... no one can get #1 in few time (for a good keyword) ... and yes we can rank well for a non competitive keyword very soon ... i too have experienced with this... but ranking for a competitive keyword needs lots of efforts and time too Puneet
It`s impossible. Google use "to many links at once" filter. Links to your site will be added gradually.
Digg.com is the answer of your question. But the new site will not to be the top ranking within 3 days. However, Digg can help you to grab the top ranking in less than 3 days for a Digg page.
Yes it is not impossible to do in 3 days. But, you have to be clever as well have some advantages. If you owned the exact match domain, were able to do some crazy linkbaiting, and the term wasn't terribly competitive, then you could pull it off. BUT, ranking #1 in Google doesn't mean the same thing for every keyword. If you wanted to rank for something like "crazy nacho taco salsa", you could probably just buy crazynachotacosalsa.com, put up a nice, reasonably optimized page about Crazy Nacho Taco Salsa, and if you had enough links, you'd be at the top in no time. But, if you wanted to rank for ringtones, 3 days is not so much going to happen unless you do some crazy stuff, like have millions of dollars to buy ringtone.com or ringtones.com and then have even more money to buy some other huge sites and maybe 301 them to those domains. Even then, it probably would take longer than 3 days to make that happen since negotiations would take weeks and the competitiors are so entrenched that you might not be able to make a dent.
