Ranges - A good tutorial anyone?

    I've been into JavaScript for a few years now, and I know most of it, but the one thing I haven't learned is, Ranges.
    I'm looking for a good Ranges tutorial, something that will give me a better understanding of what they are used for exactly, and how they work and are used.

    If you know of a good tutorial, please let me know!

    There is a class for that on prototype library: ObjectRange
