Range of times for google to index a new site

I am looking for info on range and average times for google to index a new website but haven't found much.

My website www.sci-t.co.uk has a few backlinks and has been up for about two weeks. It has not been indexed by google - is two weeks in the range of expected time taken?

In my newbie ignorance i initially fell fowl of google rules with some white on white text - this was only present for a couple of days until i removed it. I am thinking that this has got me banned :(

I am about to resubmit with grovelling apologies to the might goo ... or should I wait...

Get some sitemap plugin..install it. Get a google webmasters account and upload sitemap there. Will be indexed in a week or max 2......else i think it will take more than a month.

Please excuse my ignorance but how and why do you use digg? And what are "6pr" backlinks?

One of my sites recently got indexed in about 2 days.

Few months back, another site indexed after 20 days.

I suggest you wait, and mean while build back links.

There is no "average time" for Google to index a new site.
It depends on domain, content, links, site structure, etc.
Usually unique content on old domains is getting indexed quite fast.
Don't worry about getting in the index. Work for a few weeks, build some content... you will be indexed.

If site gets listed on a blog that is spidered alot it can get indexed very fast. Just work on making more content and submit site to more directories.

i've actually had a circumstance there a google ip address has started indexing 30 minutes after i registered and connected my hosting to the domain. Hence my first few pages on this domain showed the Joomla installation process =S
