Randomising colours in ad borders

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by neforum, Jun 18, 2007.

    Has anyone tried using :

    google_color_border = ["FF0000","FFFF00","0000FF","33FF00"];

    Code (markup):
    to randomly change the colour of the ad borders etc? This is supposed to help 'ad blindness'.

    Does anyone report any changes in CTR?

    You can't change the adsense code yourself

    Yes you can, it's standard Google code.

    Log in to your Google Adsense account.
    Go to Adsense Setup
    Pick Add Unit
    In the colours section drop-down where you select the palette
    Select 'Multiple Palettes'
    Hold 'CTRL' or 'Command' to select multiple palettes (you can have up to 4)
    Click 'Continue' twice and look at the generated code.

    You can select either the standard Google predefined colours, or if you can be bothered, you can create your own palettes and pick from them. It's standard code!

    It's seems a useful method for testing colours I think, you can pick two palettes and using some analysis software such as adspy tracker you can see which colour schemes work best. That's my intention anyhow, i've got it set up on one of my sites now and i'll see if it makes any difference. Be good to hear others' experience of it too, though.
