Setting up a group on this basis would be really interesting and I would definitely be interested. It would probably mean that there would be a number of people who have some skills (such as writing) outbalancing those with more technical skills such as hosting. But who knows? It could work. For many people it would be a very good way to use spare capacity (or spare time) to build their business. The problem is finding people who are interested in bartering. I would suggest using DP if possible, as they have an established user base and reputation system - and the reputation system will make or break this. There are two ways I can see. Lobbying for a new sub forum devoted solely to bartering within the BST section. This could take some time but it would have some exposure and there would be no question about using the rep system. There would be an issue of people coming in and not keeping their side of the bargain, and although that could happen with the BST threads there may be a feeling that barterers are "not serious" so can be conned with impunity. The alternative way is to set up a private group on DP. I was going to look into that today. This would have far less exposure to the user base and could find it hard to use the rep system (as there is a need to advertise trades). There may be ways around that, such as using a common thread, but that will probably be frowned on. However the advantage is that it can be set up today. Edited to Add: I've added a tag "barter" to a number of posts on this subject: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/tags.php?tag=barter
