The mods do not have legal training and there are adequate systems in place to take the problems to. If you don't think the police will be interested and the money is more than you can afford to lose then reconsider doing the online deal.

Dude, Please use Report Button. If you need a better forum then you need to start a revolution and in that revolution you should start taking action which is necessary. If you post like this then it won't help Mods.

Does this not embarrass you guys at all?

Do you mods and admins and owners have ANY fucking pride in the site you run!!

It's just great that months honest trading and building a good feedback score gets flushed right down the drain because some random asshole disagreed with me in a post and decides to conduct a fucking jihad against my iTrader rating.

    Show some fucking pride, MODS!!

Ya know, without some random fucking scumbag spreading lies, because he apparently seeded a thousand accounts months ago on here just so he could be a dick from now until the end of time.

Have some pride mods: fix your fucking website!

Nobody dealt with this guy! We're not talking about money! We're talking about someone randomly leave negs just to lay waste to people.

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=395472

The same guy used another ID to leave another negative iTrader for me. Now I know multiple IDs are against the rules. Can we please start enforcing the rules now that he's clearly broken one?

Since I have raised utter hell up and down the line about this in several threads, I just want to open a new thread thanking the mods for finally taking action.

That's all I've wanted. (See the evidence: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/itrader.php?u=395472).

They removed the one fake neg, and while I don't agree with leaving the other, I get the reasoning (because I retaliated with feedback). Lesson learned: don't leave retaliatory feedbacks. Ever.

I'm not certain which one of you pulled the trigger on fixing this, but many thanks are in order. I will collect my infractions and shut up now.

    Thank you.

Man . . . even when peace breaks out I find a way to get an infraction.

    Fair's fair.

See, one thing is clear here. They say iTrader is an un-moderated area and for sure that is true, that is because iTrader is a Mod (A Type of Plugin) in vBulletin which can only be managed by Admins that is Shawn & Rob. Both, of them are too busy that is why they cannot Moderate that nor they can hire anyone for this one. Maybe Shawn will make something special for DP something like that if he thinks it is very important.

There's a degree of moral hazard in leaving iTrader unmoderated.

A few years back several major department stores experimented with not pursuing shoplifters. The premise was that it was easier (read: cheaper) to allow the shoplifters to get away than it was to go through the whole dirty business of prosecuting them. Here's what they learned: once people learn there's a free walk for stealing, a lot more people do it.

That's similar to the moral hazard you face when you let people trash a feedback system. Eventually, they decide to trash the entire forum. And, in many cases, what should have been easier ends up being much harder because all that was keeping hell from breaking loose was the threat of banishing users.

A great deal of decorum is backed up by the fact that somewhere around the corner may be a cop with a gun (guess I'm showing my age, since I really should say taser). When it's not being bombed, one of the most pleasant places on Earth at night is Beirut. Why? Because there is a man with a machine gun on practically every corner.

And internet forums are worse, because the feeling of anonymity (on network originally built the U.S. military, which is its own kinda funny) seems to embolden a form of stupidity you'd never see in real life. There's just something to be said for the risk premium we assign to the possibility of having our faces caved in by another human being. So, on the internet there's a much stronger need for direct disincentives against rampant stupidity.
