well I think we all need to review links before buying them, if a site looks spammy we should not buy links

    You must have a mistake
the link:yourdomain.com is updated from time to time and I have not seen any change these days.

If you buy a high PR link for one month on an index page of a high PR 6 site, then that month expires and your link dissappears....Your link will not get validated by google as a legitimate link because 1 month is nothing to big G when it comes to link verification. Links need to be constant to be 'trusted' by google. So your link dissappears and google thinks 'hhmm, I wonder if this site is buying links...high PR link for 30 days now gone?', so it checks your other links that were bought a month ago and have now dissapeared and thinks to itself, 'hhmm, yes, this IS suspicious', and then, using a collabroation of all of your incoming link patterns, it makes a decision on whether or not you are buying links and then applies a penalty - usually a serious drop in rankings, almost similar to a sandboxed site, until you start obtaining natural, constant incoming links.

If you imagine how many sites sell links and how frequently their links change, it would be pretty easy for g to associate your site as one of the 'bought' links via algorythmic methods and therefore when buying links like this, you shoul ddo it with caution and not be too reckless.

I'm new with this subject so I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me. Does Google have a problem with sites buying links on all sites or just on sites that are unrelated? Is buying a banner ad the same as buying a link? For example, if I had a site selling cars and I wanted to bring traffic to my website to sell more cars would buying a banner ad on Ford or Hondas website be against Google's policy if I also had adsense ads on my site?

If someone could explain this a little better I would appreciate it

    thanks

Sorry, I guess the issue isn't with Google adsense it is with the page ranking, but still if someone could explain this further it would help.

This rule only applies to anchor text / text-based links. Banners are banners and will not have an effect (well not a noticeable one) on actual rankings.

You have to think, its not about G stopping us from being successfull...its about G stopping spammy sites appearing over night, spending $15,000 per month on high PR links and obtaining #1 rankings above legitimate sites that have been there for years and have a steady, healthy, natural and established incoming linking pattern.

    So my advice:
    1. yes, buy high pr links but do it in blocks of about 9 months at a time. So keep the same link for a LONG time
    2. buy all the banners you want as long as theyre on relevant websites whose visitors would genuinely be interested in your products
