Raising the bid for inactive keywords...I don't want to.

I put in a ton of lon tails and misspellings into my adwords campaigns and usually ignore inactive keywords because I'm not raising the bid for a misspelled or longtail keyword that only my ad will probably show up for. Again, I can't improve the ad because a misspelled dynamic text ad would look stupid and I don't have time to group 20,000 words into more relevant ads that google probably won't even end up recognizing as relevant.

Is there any other way for make my KYs active without raising the bid?

    20,000 keywords? Holy dictionary, batman!

Do you know that all 20k of these keywords convert well (or at all?) Sometimes they can be helpful, sure, but I'm wondering if you might be just a little better off figuring out which of those 20,000 convert, and narrowing it down to those so you can optimize around them and raise your QS so you pay less for what makes you more?

    Just a thought.

If you just leave them "as is" Google may occassionaly run them in the search network to measure their "quality". I have some ad groups like this and the number of active keywords fluctuates by hundreds from day to day.

Do you need to activate the *Google Search Network* in order to have Google occassionally check the relevancy of your keywords? Or does Google check the quality too if you only have the Google Search enabled but not the Google Search Network? Thanks

I would assume either or would be ok.
