Dear all! Me and my friend are currently starting a campaign that will make our dreams come true. We want to build a great fully automated online store like amazon, ebay. or etsy with a full focus on discounts and lowest fees for businesses as possible. The only thing we are lacking is a starting budget purely for a website development with great functionality, both for clients and for businesses. That is why we are trying to accumulate $5,000 for this project. I hope that digitalpoint users will consider the whole idea behind the project as beneficial both to users and to clients in the long term perspective. Impossible for you to get donations here because the activity you are going to start is not a social service, its your business and will be your income source.
You can't provide competitive price, comparing to Amazon and eBay.. They are trusted in market and their pricing also competitive in the marketing. You have to build brand name first..

Gary is correct. Additionally, that 5000 dollars would not pay to host something of that scope for that matter. In order to take a viable crack at that you would need either an Angel or Round 1 investment of several 100,000's of dollars. just a thought. Nigel
100,000s wouldn't even cover the amount of advertising needed to get it popular. The other sites have been around for years, and they have built up trust. Its like going against google
I do not think you are going to get what you are asking for. Maybe, you should try somewhere else. Get a job, save money, sell on e-bay, those are the things I can suggest you to do if you need the cash for your project. Good luck

I'm an international student who want to study.My parent divorced long times ago. They have their new family. Since we were young, we always stay with our grandparent. They always take care me and my sibling. Sometimes our father come to visit us. But our mother never come to visit us.Three years ago, my grandfather was died. And nowadays my grandmother is very old. She can't work anymore.I tried to find many jobs and applied it. But my English isn't very well.It's difficult to get a job. I applied many kinds of job such as dishwasher, server,Waitress ,etc. I wanna make money and keep it for my grandmother ,my sibling, and my education. I'm very stress. I don't know what should I do. Mentioned already in this thread countless times already but it`s highly unlikely you`re going to get anything from users here unless you can demonstrate a killer idea and have a decent business plan. Even with that, it appears you`re fairly new here so another sign that doesn`t help you. $5K is peanuts in the scheme of things unless you are able to market it effectively on a budget and I would doubt that is the case being that you are asking for money on a forum which is known for being cheap and cheerful. Sorry to burst your bubble but friends and family maybe the best option if you are convinced about your idea.
