Rafeal Nadal the clay court king was beaten for the first time in the French open.

He was beaten by Soderling of Sweden in four sets... 6-2, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 7-6 (2)...:(

Well even though it's sad that nadal has lost, this as well and truly opened the gates for Roger federer to win his first French Open title....:)

I hope federer wins this time atleast....:)

I didn't see the game but this is an unbelievable result. Soderling isn't even seeded in the top 10.

Borg 5 wins in a row are safe again :D What a game by Soderling, as Nadal said, i was to happen one day. Soderling served like his trainer did when he played pro. Soderling just hit hard and far to keep Nadal on the defensive. Really a cool game!

Pretty remarkable run by Nadal though...and don't think that Federer is a sure thing in this tourney. Still a lot of tennis left

I was disappointed but happy at the same time. As a Federer supporter I was happy that it is now a much easier task both mentally and practically for Roger to win his first French Open. However I am also disappointed as I'd like to see him beat Nadal in the final to do it which is now not possible this year.
