Hi all, I have a question.

A friend of mine has a radiostation and i was planning to start a service were i will sell commercial time for customers on the radio. So my friend will make some promotion on the radio for any kind of busnuess, service, website etc.

So my question is: Do you think that radio promotion is 'hot' and is it a good idea to start a service for commercial time on a radiostation? And how much can i charge for a commercial of 30 seconds?

I hope you can answer my questions and give me some good advice. Thanks in advance!

Pricing depends on what type of audience numbers the station attracts. Offline promotion media (radio, TV, print) can be very costly but this as mentioned depends on station popularity/success etc.

Radio promotion is suitable for local business advertising. The charges is subjected to the prime air-time, mid-night air-time and so on. It is also subjected to the audience that you are targeting. If you are able to provide ROI to the business, that will help you in air-time charges.

Radio promotions are great for local services/places. Your target market would have to be local businesses and establishments who are looking to reach out to consumers. I don't have an idea on how much 30 seconds of airtime would cost. I suggest you do your market research first and check out competition too.

Funny you should ask this Question, A popular Radio station where I live has been running an AD for Free Ipad and you can tell from the Detailed way they explain how to Apply for it and the Number of times They mention the site That It's a Publisher running an Offer..And he must be Making a a killing because it's been running for about a month and I here everyone talking about It....Or Maybe the station has a Affiliate Account..mmmmmmmmm!!
