im doing an image hosting site and the files uploaded will go straight to amazon s3 or rackspace cloud files and i just can't figure out the pricing of both to see which is cheaper.. which is the cheaper option of these two for the same amount of data i would use? thanks
I don't know about the prices over rackspace but I recommend Amazon S3 since I had really no problem at all using their services.
Amazon S3 is good but if you also may require a good support team in the backend to assist you whenever you may come up with issues, then you better go for Rackspace.. Their support is excellent. Pricing wise there is no much difference... And I think both the file systems run on Hadoop technology..
I would say Amazon S3 because it has a good CDN and Scalable network. But if you are concerned about fanatical support and economical / cheap cloud hosting option, then Rackspace is good. Source: http://www.cloudreviews.com/blog/best-cheap-cloud-hosting-services
