Racist Red Rep

Briant you have no idea if they are different members redding you or not.

 

Of course I do, you can't red rep more than once a day. And it has happened multiple times a day before.

 

Well. If you believe there is a consortium gathered to do this, then you can create a new thread in S&F forum asking admin to look into it. You might cop a few more reds just for asking but at least they might look into it.

Creating this thread in P&R will do nothing.

Some of the comments are quite funny but thankfully I have a steady "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" method of giving green to people to keep the crazy gang at bay.

I remember when I first started posting about how corrupt Bush is some people didn't like it one bit and made my rep button show red. I cried for weeks and couldn't sleep at night. I even contemplated suicide.

Maybe then you should scrutinise your posted content, that many people redding you must tell you something, right?

 

thats not quite true. you can leave up to 20 reps/day I think, and must rep 10 different people before doing the same person again. but you can leave all negative reps if you want. (numbers above based on my memory of vbulletin and may or may not be 100% correct).

 

Could be an offhand comment because someone's mother or wife was cooking curry and he didn't have anything more to say...

 

So to sum up, you red members all the time which costs - 1 rep because of their views in the P&R forum, which would eventually take you into the red yourself, but you have a "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" syndicate going?

Thai curry is by far the best....sorry but it is. They have one hell of a nightlife there as well.

 

The problem is they are like the bankers: they have all the chips, so when they red rep you it costs them little, but you a lot. I too try to insulate people from their abuse, but it is difficult.

I think to give people rep who are clearly being abused by the cyberfascists is a good defensive tactic.

Just be careful when you say that. admin can see every rep you have ever given, green or red, the comments you made and to whom and when it was sent.

If you jump upand down about this and you have lied about this then they will catch you out. They DO NOT like their time being wasted.

Yes. The repper is laughing himself silly over this dumb thread, and will rep you again just to hear you whine some more.

 

I've been an admin at many forums since 1998 including one in the late 90's with over 3,500 active members at any one time (it was a porn forum, biggest in the world for about 3 years ) and we didn't have any of this rep cobblers then. As I can see it the rep thing is fatally flawed but what I do like is the iTrader rating, far more important and relevant on a webmaster forum in my humble opinion.

Don't worry about it Briant, having 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 green tickers is not going to get you a foursome with 3 of Sweden's hottest chicks, it means absolutely nothing but having said that it always gives me a bit of enjoyment calling one of the P&R "crazy gang" a C**T and always tagging it with my username.
