Nope, In America they really do honor freedom of speech.
Freedom of expression is useless and has no value if only the socially accepted thoughts are expressed.
Everything is offensive for someone, banning individuals from exercising their freedom of speech is destroying all forms of democracy.
Words never killed anyone, violence did.
Even though I personally hate rascism, I love freedom and democracy.
Banning someones opinion is banning both democracy and freedom, even though the opinion might be how upsetting or offensive to you.
I'm really shocked how so many think it's illegal or should be "banned".
In some countries it's illegal, however not in the USA.

    Let freedom ring.

    @huuta,

It is however illegal - also in the US - to threaten to kill someone or to call on other people to do so. The laws you mentioned are usually kind of extentions of it. Surfing the internet I found calls to kill "person X" or "group Y" rather rare. You'll find however a lot sites that publish crime statistics, differences in intelligence or rally against foreign immigration and the like. Then there is of course those sites of nationalist or racialist tones calling for the preserverence or selfdetermination of "group Z". Not to forget those sites dealing with World War Two. Basically some of this will get you into trouble with "the law" in some countries. But then their is also academic ostracism on some subjects, based on conclusions and not on method or facts.

Perhaps the initial poster should tell us what he actually would like to publish on a web site.

    Isn't it obvious?

He hates his parent for making him a weak man blaming the world for his failure to succeed in life...

I can see my rep going down by the minute...

Okay, aside from the racist part which I totally hate also, but I agree that in this world there are all kind of people.

This thread would have been a great link bait with a few URLs here and there. That's my SEO-inner-voice rather than Racist one.

    Cheers! :D

I would like to say thank you very much to everyone who helped me. I really learned a lot from this experience (even from the haters).

My site is intended to support a minority group that is being ethnically cleansed as we speak. Because of all the unspeakable murder, torture, rape etc. of my people, I know that some of the user submitted comments will be racially hateful. Can you blame them? I don't hate any race, I only hate my enemy and this is war. I can’t help but wonder what the outcome of this thread would have been if I said my skin was dark. I almost feel guilty to say I’m not.;) That is crazy and very sad. Thanks again M.

Now your title was chosen in a way that can be easily misunderstood.
What you meant was content that could be interpreted "offensive" by certain parties. And we need to bear in mind that some people are easily offended. And that's the way some may have understood it here: offensive to some people and the ones to whom they are the pet groups.

I'm of course aware of what you are talking, but then I am in South Africa as we are writing. Perhaps you should introduce your site here for review and people can then decide, whether this is hateful or whatever.
