Hi all! I want to quote a paragraph from someone's article with his permission. But in order to not be tracked as duplicate content, which options do we have? I think I remember we can do something on the div tag so that paragraph is not followed although the rest of the page is. Many thanks on advance!
Why not write your own article and only quote to the title of the article so that you don't lose visitors. If you quote someone, you should state where you got the quoted information from so that you are not committing plagiarism. It is better to write your own, and only quote a name and a title as a source instead of copying the entire article. I know I didn't answer your question, but I'm just offering my two cents.
Hi RancidAvocado, Many thanks for your answer. The article is completely new but following someone´s article, and I already have the permission from this person to quote it, I only need to quote a paragraph from him and mentioning him and the source where I got it from. But still, I am keen on getting to know how to make a paragraph "no follow" for Google. Thanks a lot!
If its just a paragraph of the article contained within your own its not a problem worth worrying about, Your page is still mostly unique.
True. Too many people just think that google will ban them if they use a partial article on their site, or even the entire article. Well, google won't. What google will probably do is that page may not be shown in searches.
Thanks so much Iowadawg. I am a bit curious though to know if there is anything you can add to your code so you definitely declare that is a quote. Thanks a lot once more!
You have no problem to submit duplicate content, Google will crawl also. But you never ever beat original content.
