quite urgent- about repetetive internal links

    hi there
I have had this question in my head for 2 full days. I have trawled the net for answers but just keep getting confused ! Is there someone here who really knows there stuff who can advise me please- I am holding off with my page writeups until I know the right course of action to take

My site is undergoing SEO. I have taught myself most of what i need to know and so far so good, until we get to internal links....

Questions 1- I have some plain text navigation links to major pages- as a footer on all pages. These exact same links appear on all of my pages- think there'd be around 50 pages. So that means each particular text link is repated in exactly the same way, 50 times. It is for site navigation so did not want to vary the wording. But is this spammy? So many sites have footers, so I'm assuming this is acceptable but then at the same time am not quite sure!!!

Question 2- Page "D" may be titled, for example, "tarot readings". it is optimized for just that one kw phrase as that phrase is highly competetive. Now i have many other pages relevant to psychic services, where i want to drop in a link , within the text to tarot readings my inclination is to use this exact phrase, without variation, on each page that link appears....there would probably end up being 20 anchor text links within the page blurb saying simply tarot readings pointing to the tarot readings page....this does not seem alot to me, but would it send a red flag to the SE's ...and therefore should i VARY the text, so i have "tarot readings" a few times, mixed up with "tarot card readings", "readings with the tarot", etc.......?

Question 3- if I DO need to vary wording in anchor text to a given page, yet still keeping my keyphrase in there...well how does this work when you want to direct links to a page that is optimized for SEVERAL keyphrase that link together in a "theme"...because i have read that in any anchor link, its advisable to include ALL your keywords in it, else the spiders may not rate it as highly if you only have one of your keyphrases in their

eg I want to spread links across pages to send the reader to a page optimized in all aspects for:

Spiritual Readings- Angel Messages with the Angel Oracle

There are 3 distinct, yet linked, phrases there.....not a problem creating an anchor text for those if i don't have to try and vary the text....but a bigger problem if i have to vary the text ...not much scope for variation when trying to fit in THREE keyphrases!! So again, i'd want to create just the ONE anchor text with certain wording to reach that page from other pages...but again, is that spammy?

Please don't advise me to use less kw's to get around this problem...certain pages are designed for one keyphrase as are competetive, others for several as are less competetive and fit nicely in a theme, which is a concept i have researched well and wish to try out - I have broken my pages down where I can but there are limits - go beyond those and im creating superfluous pages simply to target new keyphrases...don't mind a couple of those but only a couple

I understand about needing to vary anchor text for sites that link TO you but my issue is do to with INTERNAL links which i wish to spread throughout the descriptive text...do i have to vary the text or not?!

It's very frustrating not to know how to proceed !

    thanks for bearing with me.......

Hello Cosmicpixie, I'll try to help you out.

    Answer 1
Have you tried using frames on your website? I suggest that you make a single web page constituting the navigation bar. This can be displayed in a single frame. This will require a lot of scripting, mind you.

    Answer 2
I would suggest not to disturb the keyword density. However, you can have multiple variations of the keywords. Just make sure that the density does not fall below 2%. Try not to lower the density of the most competitive keywords below that mark.

    Answer 3
I am not sure, but you could use "Angel Messages" and "Angel Oracles" as sub-topics under "Spiritual Readings". That might tidy it up.
