I do. Very Occasionally. I live in Amsterdam, it's normal there.. My house is 2 doors down from a coffeeshop.
wow, my friend has a poster in his room featuring pictures of coffee shops in Amsterdam. I sooooooo wanna go ... someday.
yer you should come over. It's mad over here. Nowhere else quite like it. It's almost as if all the misfits in the world have come to Amsterdam and just sort of stayed. we have naked people walking around, lesbians and gays doing homosexual stuff in the street without people blinking an eyelid, we have junkies injecting themselves infront of tourists, fat chinese hookers playing with dildo's in windows, english guys on stag nights dressed as superman passed out on the side of the road as they thought they were bob marley and greened out after one too many joints. it's a hoot. So how's the non smoking going, folks? I have just chain smoked half a packet so it could be going better lol..
Wow, 19 pages! Tomorrow marks 10 weeks for me. I smoked a pack a day since high school. Gained about two pounds. But then again, my doctor had me all jacked up on Wellbutrin and Nicotine patches. First you get on the pill (Wellbutrin) for about 30 days to let it build up. Then you quit smoking cold turkey and begin using the big patch. First day on the big patch and I was high as a kite. That big one is something else! Next day i was used to it. Only on the big patch for 7 days... The eighth day you go to the medium patch, and those barstads (new word formed in my "hello" thread, page 2) only sell the medium and small in 14 patch boxes! 15th day I moved to the small patch, but this patch was tricky. Didn't feel it at all, yet didn't crave cigarettes either. That is until we went out with my wife's brother on the night he got into town. Get to the bars and it's a whole 'nother story! So, for Friday when we went out, I simply stuck a second small patch on my arm (equivelant of a medium patch with 2 smalls). That go tme through the bar scene without even crazing anything. Now, one day short of 10 weeks and I have to tell you that I am way glad I quit and that I didn't try it on my own, again. I don't miss it at all this time, but the times when I've just up and quit on my own, I've always gone back, and not long after quitting either. Good luck to ya bro!!!
I´m still fag free. Past three weeks now. I´ve put on a ton of weight and that is getting me down a bit. It´s not so much that I am nibbling all the time to make up for not having a cigarette in my hand, it´s because I suddenly have an appetite. I am aslo enjoying food more. Everything tastes better.
No smoking here since March 21st. Its easy most of the time...but this past weekend involved a wedding and lots of late night gambling etc...
Great thread, i quit on the 1st of August 2004. I still crave for a sigarette every now and then, but i have desided not to smoke ever again. I wish all the other non-smokers wannabees all the best
Congrats e10 I'm weally pleased for you. If you can quit smoking you certainly have the will power to lose a bit of weight, just give it a few more weeks before trying. I actually had my first anniversary as a non smoker yesterday, I've been tempted at time but the benefits are easily worth the odd cranky moment.
