Quirky weight

    Check this out...

The only site I had a problem with in this recent PR update was (according to the DP keyword tracking) a PR4 with 5850 pages -- the tool hasn't caught up with the visible PR change to PR5, but here's the odd part.

    Old weight: 12,800
    New weight: 517
    New weight when I change www.domain.com to domain.com: 2,200

The best I can tell, I did not lose any pages (I may have actually gained some), but there is a difference in pages shown, between domain.com and www.domain.com [www still shows the 5850 pages]. However, a search for www.domain.com in google brings up domain.com (without the www). Is that weird or what?

Hopefully I can get the www issue figured out, because it is probably costing me about 12k in weight that I'd like to get back. About a month ago, I tried to eliminate the possibility of getting nailed by 302 redirects by putting this in my .htaccess file -- think it could be susepct?

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

It's my understanding that if you put yourdomain.com into the coop as your domain, you will get credit for all pages on any and all subdomains (including www).

The point is that the API is measuring domain.com differently than www.domain.com, when there are no sub-domains. The PR is different among the two as well, even with that 301 redirect...the weight is what it is; this looks like a Google fart.

    Hi we have similar problems

    our website has 2 domain

www.domain.com and dict.domain.com, they are exactly the same, and if put in "dict.domain.com", google will show "www.domain.com"

google shows more than 10000 pages for "site:dict.domain.com" and the pages is like http://dict.domain.com/xxxxx.html

google also shows more than 10000 pages for "site:www.domain.com" and the pages is like http://www.domain.com/xxxxx.html

google shows 20000+ if using "site:domain.com", so I think this 20000 should be the real page number of our website.

in co-op the weight of www.domain.com is 8000+ which is good, however weight of dict.domain.com is only 70

the weight of dict.domain.com was around 8000+ sometime ago, but it is 70 now

After this google pr/backlinks update, the pages of dict.domain.com indexed by google has increased a lot, the pages of www.domain.com still the same, but the weight in co-op doesn't change

I forgot to say www.domain.com and dict.domain.com have the same PR 5, if put in domain.com, google shows pr 0

What can we do to solve this problem ?
