What do you guys think the quickest way to build a blog is? I use WordPress and have a pack of custom themes, plugins and articles ready to start of with then I upload them and setup everything for SEO, ads etc. What way do use use, and what do you think the quickest?

You can talk about parasite blog hosting as well, that counts... :)

There is no quick way, except maybe to use WP MU and do a mass install...but I mean really, how much time does it take?
If you done it a few times and already have your plug ins and themes organized, it's pretty much drag and drop, go get a cup of coffee come back and start doing your customizations and posting.

Do a couple a directory submissions, syndicate your RSS feed, bookmark the first few posts around the horn, add to Google webmaster tools with sitemap and that's pretty much it.

You really don't want anything that is going to do that with the push of a button. If you want it done correctly, you need to take the time to do it right.

The best way is to do it right. Doesn't matter if it's quick or not. Fantastico is quick but I never use it. Once you get the hang of it you can build a complete WordPress CMS Shell site in under an hour.

I am not agree with you.Because any blog does not go live quickly if you host on your private server. You can create it only on wordpress hosted blog platform or blogger platform but if you want to host it personally it take time. Many hosting service providers gives one click creation wizard for your blog.

Use Wordpress. It is the number one blogging CMS and has the
wonderful "pinging" feature that helps with SEO.

There's no disadvantage to using Fantastico for a default installation. It installs the exact package you would get from Wordpress officially AFAIK.

If Fantastico is kept up to date and if Fantastico is up to date as well. I've seen many shared hosts that never update anything and use older versions of both Fantastico and CPanel. Also Fantastico is always behind on well as they themselves have to install the software on their end.

Also those are bare installs with nothing added in. Some of those programs have some rather serious security concerns unless you follow up with additional modules or fixes.

I do managed hosting. That means we do all of the installs and upgrades for our clients. Takes care of all of the security concerns. We upgrade our clients usually within hours of a release or a security fix/patch.

Yeah I agree with wordpress.org. Just get a domain name and hosting from Host Gator, blue host or godaddy and you'll be able to add wordpress to the domain in a few clicks. The themes or templates and the plugins are easier then any other method to customize your blog.

But the fastest way would be Wordpress.com and blogger.com but having your own domain and control over your site will be better in the long run. But then again the 2 top sites for the keywords for "make money online" are from blogspot.com. I also like using weebly as well and very easy to use.

    cheers!

Buying an established site as mentioned is probably the quickest and most cost effective way to do this, you can pick something up for as little as $15 that is already indexed and includes some unique content - much easier than doing it yourself!

Any of the free blogging platforms are very quick to start a blog but preferably you can go for Wordpress.com or Blogger.com, they are really quichk and you can have a blog within 5 minutes.

Its best to go with a own domain and hosting space with Wordpress. I just take 10 minutes to set it up.

Doesn't matter how fast you do it. If you have no real plan and you get it all up in 2 seconds what have you got?
