This type of strategy is called "parasite hosting" where you create blogs and pages on multiple high traffic web 2.0 properties such as Word Press, Blogger, Squidoo, Tumblr, Ning, Xanga, Clear Blogs, PB Wiki, Hub Pages, etc... I also use Unique Article Wizard to submit my articles and quickly get lots of backlinks to these pages...
