Do all web hosts that allow mySQL also allow vBulletin on their servers? If I got vBulletin, would I upload it to the server myself or do some web hosts provide it? In particular, I'm looking at dreamhost: http://www.dreamhost.com/ Thanks
Yes you can host vBulletin with dreamhost. However once your website gets big enough they should email you telling you that you are taking too much resources (CPU resources) then you will have to move to a VPS or dedicated.
Hello.. yes you can host vBulletin in all of the hosts (mostly). And yes,i wont recommend you to go for Dreamhost,as the support is very bad and the services are not upto mark.. it would be better for you,if you go for Hostgator. Check PM.
yes most of the hosts allow mysql but not all check server spec dreamhost allows it but you can go with some cheaper plans also if you are looking for some other very cheap hosting than check my signature
I can refer you to an host here at DP who I am with. It's really cheap and I have never had any problems with it. I host my vBulletin forum there.
Most allow forums such as vBulletin, IPB etc.. most hosts actually have Fantastico or some other auto script installer with a few free forum or CMS scripts to use. The only thing with vBulletin is the fact that it gets pirated and nulled a lot. The only way to find out if a vBulletin or IPB is nulled is to contact Jelsoft or IPB to see if it is registered to that domain name. Some hosts don't allow it simply because of abuse in their previous experiences. AmpedHosts allows it, and From what I've heard DreamHosts does have bad support (sorry). And yes, once you get a forum with to large of a community (SQL files, storage space, bandwidth etc..) they might kick you off or they'll ask you to upgrade to a different package or server so your not basically hogging the hosting from the other people on the server I wish you the best of Luck, Alex
