Quick TOS Question on New Page Design

Just a quick question about my new design and placement of adsense code.

Potential new design is here and the adsense code would go in the star to the left of the page.

Anyone care to tell me if this would break the adsense TOS?

I not sure it will but the wise experts on DP might care to differ.

    Thanks for any insight.

Yes, it probably would. They don't like backgrounds behind the ads - that's my take on things anyway. You'll find people who try and sell AdSense backgrounds say it's okay to use them - they have a vested interest in selling their product, plain and simple.

Just e-mail Google's AdSense team and they'll get right back to you. I actually think this instance is OK. Please let us know what they say. Thanks!

    Thanks to those that replied.

I contacted Google to ask about my problem.

The reply from Google was as follows:

"We recommend that you exercise caution when implementing ads in this
manner to not draw undue attention to the Google ads."

"As you may know, publishers may not implement Google ads in a manner that
disguises the ads in any way, for instance, by formatting neighboring
content to look similar to the ads, or by making ads look like games or
forum posts. Additionally, publishers may not attempt to associate
specific images with the individual ads appearing on their sites. Such an
implementation may confuse users who assume that the image is directly
    related to the advertiser's offerings."

So with that in mind I'll be sticking on the safe side of things and not doing it the way shown.
