Hello fellow guys and gals, First off, let me point out that I'm by no means an SEO expert. I just wanted to share a quick tip that WORKED. I'm not talking from the prospective of years of research and bla bla bla. Well, here we go. Do you know that you can sometimes rank HIGH for Google Trends terms in something like, 15 minutes? Let me explain. The 'Why': What makes Google trending terms different than other keywords? Well, the demand for trending terms is obviously very high for a certain amount of time. Since often this could be some hot news that was just released somewhere, Google struggles to find its users quick, high quality content and A LOT of criteria is crossed out of the equation, or more accurately, is not effective. Let's take an example, a hot celebrity news story. I have a brand new site that I posted the news at, optimized my title, keywords (even if the website was a Blogger blog I snapped together 2 minutes earlier...lol). And viola, I'm on the top 10 often in less than an hour. Of course this technique is very short term and depends on your speed of obtaining the info and putting a blog together in a record time, but it still works great. The 'How': This is really simple. As mentioned above, you just need to put together a quikc blog with the news, a clean template, optimized keywords and title. Now go to digg, reddit, stumbleupon and bookmark it. Watch your site go up and up and up. Again I stress that this is very short time, ideal for 'bum marketing' tactics but wouldn't be useful in the long term. Monetization: Now this is a little bit off-topic, but just to give you an idea of how to monetize this, simply put adsense in the blog you setup, a relevant CPA offer, a relevant clickbank product...etc. Now the key here is to act fast, since this is a trending term, traffic obtained will be exponential, in the short term. So you can end up making some good money for some very little work. Hope this helps.
hey I am no seo expert yet, however one thing i have learned is WONDERWHEEL, its a great tool, and would help you to rank at top if you follow the wonderwheel.
This is a good method for s short term goal as you mentioned.. I used this technique to promote some CPA offers too!
One site for one news story? Blogger would probably flag that account for spam. I know the trends is a good way to go though. One of the problems I have always had is that Google Hot Trends in particular is simply not relevant to the UK market and all the "Hot" trends as such are already being blogged about when they go live! If only Google could spread this out across regions. I setup a trends blog a while back and throw the headlines in daily, but I have noticed that you need to also concentrate on link building a fair amount. I had success with a Jordan/Katie Price article recently that picked up 1500 uniques to the one such post all from Google within a few hours. So I defo know what you mean with how this can be really effective if you can spot a new trend in your region and get it covered fast.
Thanks a lot for your share... it is of great help to our beginners... I've just been a CEO of a wholesale China cell phone company... and I know little about CEO``` I would like to learn from you guys...
The is a free online Google Trends tracker in my sig for anyone that wants to try this technique. Bompa
That was a good idea or technique, thank you... I think this makes you appear in the Google trends chart right?
OK, I slept at night and woke up with 10 replies, so please excuse the late reply. Here we go: @Ryan6 That didn't really happen with me, besidesm you've forgotten the keywords 'short-term' and 'speed'. By the time it gets flagged as spam, if it gets, you would have already walked away with some good cash. You can even use one 'general' blog and out any news you collect from the trends there and give it a title like 'From Around the World'. Yes, it won't rank good for long term but for short term, it's great. Let me point out again why speed is a very important factor here, and why it's the thing that makes this so effective: Speed = Getting in early (Google trends gives you the heads up, of course) Getting in early means: - Less competetion. - Exploiting the Google 'hunger' for content related to the trends. @Bompa Thanks for the share. @snaeem You're quite right actually, but this is obviously not the only way to squeeze a lot of money out of Google Trends. These tips should help you brainstorm opportunities. I obviously can't share everything here. @Traffic-Bug and Sanrajkr Sorry, I did not understand what you are both trying to say. Sorry for the ignorance, please rephrase. @ Everyone Thanks for the great feedback!
That's interesting and thanks for the share but how can you know the recent breaking news without anyone publishing(seems like we need to watch BBC for breaking news lol ) it before you?
