Ton people say the more keywords that are in your Meta tag are good. But with my experience I seem to do better with 8 or less keywords.

Anyone that knows a answer on this can you help me out. Have new web site that I am setting up everything with and want to do it right.

So the questions is "Is 8 keywords or less better for in your Meta tag on your web site or the more you have the better? "

I think its better to have less keywords.Targeting five to ten keywords is good to achieve.

I would say 1 keyword per page helps a lot

Keyword stuffing isn't going to help much, rather focus on the title tag and anchor text of your backlinks!

META tags are by and large dead. What you want to do is target the keywords you want to use in the content on your pages.

Meta tags? It has been dead fr quite some time though some smaller search engines may still take into consideration. Any way the only meta tag that is still of use would be the meta description which are shown to the searchers in SERPs. Title tag is not considered as meta and it has a significant SEO value.

Your title Tag should be very focused to your site's topic. Your meta keywords should be very focused as well, maybe 4 to 5 words. Your page context is very important to how well your site will rank over all. Make sure to use plent of unique copy on your site and all your sub-pages.

Not the site's topic - the page's topic.
