http://www.danthorpe.co.uk/index.html Made a few changes what do you think? how could / should i improve it??
Good use of white space Dan. Have you thought of having a smaller image on the right which is non-pixelated? Maybe you can incorporate that picture into a logo that you can use on all pages. That way a user can focus more on the content, and it will also solve the issue of your comments, which have text boxes that are drifting onto the image. Also, maybe you can try to make the latest blog entries more prominent, or give more summary of the text that is involved. At this moment, a user may unconsciously focus more on the picture on the right instead of the content on the left. Good job.
Hi Dan, Are you build using wordpress? i think not. try using wordpress and its more easy to manage. But totally your web okay. just add some pic as header. looks more nice. Are you know company name DYSON there?
I would minimize the photograph on the left so that no horizontal scrollbars will appear with users that have a small monitor resolution.
The photo on the top left is too big and the design looks a bit old style. may be you can widen the posting area, it is too narrow in my opinion. But it is warm and personal content wise, i liked it. Keep up the good work. sorry for the car by the way...
okay thanks for the feedback very gratefull, no im not using wordpress, i like to build and code my own sites 100% makes them more personnal to me and also note all pages are w3c complient. The aim of this site is to see how good my SEO skills are and how much traffic i can generate from just search engines without any paid links over the web. I will take all criticism of the site in and try and change it around, it did only take me 2 hours to build so there are changes hat need to be made. As the sites mainly about me i wanted it to feel more personnal and focus on me. Thanks for the reviews guys really helps
