To whom should I be promoting my bid directory to ? A: primarily webmasters, thus revenue B: the public, good for webmasters What works best for you 50/50 etc... I have a follow up question which will be based on replies. Cheers for now...
Do you promote your directories? LOL...I only seen you building 4 -5 new ones every week, listing them on solicitations forums for a while and then putting them for sale...hmm... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/search.php?searchid=9755893 Coming back to Marty's question...NEVER ever try to promote your directories to webmasters. I would say...try to make your directory useful for every single visitor...once the visitors will see your useful resource they will keep coming back so you directory will become popular. Once your directory will become really useful and popular the webmasters will keep on knocking at your door...
hmmm I have to agree with the previous post. I think webmasters will come to your site, just maybe launch it once just so they will know your directory, then promote it to other people.
Well I did launch it just yesterday actually in the Solicitations & Announcements section, however I added a sitepal feature to it and I'm debating what the feature should be saying to visitors, whether you like the feature or not thats not my question and I'm still messing around with it while I'm in construction mode. I guess something like this would be ok for webmasters, but my main concern is the home page, hence Webmasters or Public question, anyway its a work in progress and I am taking in your points of view.
There are amazing opportunities these days for those looking for a super duper bargain in cars, trucks, and real estate. But it's not probably where you're looking for them.
? I fail to see how that even becomes a question in the first place, unless your playing trick or treat. A bid directory by nature charges $ to raise the bid. The bid directory states these bids are for advertising purposes, with this in mind they advertise to the public. If not would not the whole concept of the bid directory be flawed.
I don't quite follow your reply... perhaps you could elaborate "unless your playing trick or treat" ? Regardless of how some people run directories, I'm asking as an individual, what works best, promoting to webmasters or the public. I can see promoting to webmasters will create content, which in turn will generate better higher search engine results, thus then the public show up. I don't see the public showing up on the directory, just to search for something. Anyway thanks for the replies, I'm going to go 50/50 for the moment.
Ok sorry to confuse, will try this way, a bid directory claims that the bid component of the directory is not based on anything other than elevating that listing for public attention and no other purpose. so if your doing a good job promoting this directory at its intended audience, the webmasters will pick up on it, you win, the webmaster wins and the public win. ? i might have your question confused if so sorry.
Hi Marty, I think Loredan just spoke on that. But on general It should be both for the public and also webmasters as you want money to come in from everywhere
