We have a client that has changed the address of his business. We went in and changed the address of his business on google maps. This was about two weeks ago. When you look at his listing in Google (his site is #5 in his niche), we are still seeing his old address listed. Our client's question (and our question) is this - does Google take a very long time in changing the address of the Google map? What I mean is - sure, we can go into Google maps and see that it has changed right away, but when we do a search on one of his keywords and his site pops up - it shows his listing with an address on his google map as his old address. Anyway to change that or does it take Google a long time to change it on the listing?
Could take forever 1 to 2 months. Did it ask you to confirm with a phone call or postcard? Last Time I did it I had to confirm through Google maps control panel.
Be sure to claim the old listing and change the address RATHER than add a new listing. Having duplicate listings will incur the wrath of the Google Maps algorithm. If you claim it, the post card should arrive within 2 weeks once the request is submitted.
