    it's a mod/hack.

don't allow guests to post is one way, and change permissions for registered users based on their post counts.

Yeah... you can change permissions per user or find a good modification. There is a huge modding community for vBulletin, so you should really take advantage of that. You can find many mods on sites such as www.vbulletin.org and some other websites.

You should make sure that CAPTCHA is functioning for new registrations and/or guest postings. Make sure you have slant on and another option which I'm currently forgetting. As contrary to what many may say, CAPTCHA is not cracked yet (at least it wasn't a week ago ;) )

You learn more about Captcha here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captcha] (remember when linking to WIKI use the nofollow tag...they do it to us!)

If you need to know the actual path in the Admin Control Panel, you'll need to ask at vb.com or at vBorg.

    Best of luck!

combine this with email verification and you shouldnt have a problem anymore

anyone who goes through all that trouble to make a spam post will be wasting loads of time

I have requested that people post a minimum of 1 posts before posting URL's

so now i get the benifits of bots signing up to bulk out my forum and they wont be able to post spam.
