So this is something that i've been wondering about for a long time. This is actually a question about CJ, google affiliate, link share etc. Let's say I want to advertise a product for Macy's (or any other company for that matter) and they are running a promotion, through July 20th, it clearly states that the promotion/link expires on july 20th. However, let's say somebody clicks on that link on July 21, will I still get credit for the sale? The reason I'm asking is because, in Google affiliate network I always get notifications that there were clicks on expired links, and I was wondering if that means that I'm no longer receiving commission from those links, or are they still valid regardless of the expiration date? Thanks
if you sign into your cj homepage and look on the right hand side at the bottom, there is a list of quick tasks. it gives you the option to "review clicks from invalid links" and shows you exactly which ads to replace. hope that helps, its only for cj, tho, maybe someone else can give you some more info about the other networks.
Often I've found that those expired links go to a dead end 'expired links' page so no commission. It pays to monitor them closely. I now put those on my calendar with an alert so that I can update my links to something current.
