Hi i'm new to adwords, I've been thinking that although broad match isn't highly targeted like phrase or exact match, this could be good to discover new keywords to target for an exact match campaign. So start a broad match campaign for a short period of time and monitor which phrases are getting good conversions. For example if you use the broad match phrase: "dog food" and you discover that your highest conversions come from the phrase, "I want to buy dog food" then you could add the phrase, "I want to buy dog food" to an exact match. My question is: If you set up a broad match will adwords tell you which phrases arebeing clicked through? i.e. will it show that, "I want to buy dog food" is being clicked through or would it just count as a click through for the phrase "dog food"? Cheers
Use the 'Search Query Performance' report on the reports tab. It doesn't give you every search query but most. Alternatively you can search your website logs or if you use a 3rd party traffic counter like Statcounter they should have a search string/ keyword report .
For someone who is "New to Adwords" you have the right line of thinking I install statcounter on all my landing pages so I use their keyword report to find targeted "exact phrases"
