My site used to be PR 4, but it decreased to PR3 a few months ago. I wrote a nice article on my site and today it was linked to by two PR6 websites. Will I definitely move back up to a PR4? What about PR5? Thanks
First of all, sites don't have PageRank - pages have PageRank. The drop from a PageRank score of 4 to 3 was probably due mostly to Google recalibrating the Toolbar PageRank meter. That is, the true value of the old PageRank score of 4 and the current score of 3 is roughly the same. It's pretty much impossible to say if the new links you mention will have a visible effect on your Toolbar PageRank score because the effect of those links depends on both the PageRank score of the pages where the links reside and the number of links on those pages. And since the PageRank scale is frequently recalibrated these days, you may not see any visible changes. But Google's internal PageRank data is much more granular than the 0-10 scale of the Toolbar meter, so you may well see better rankings.
lolz. Its not like that. You got 2 more backlinks from PR-6 websites. You will have to create 1000 backlinks like that so that you get a page rank 4 or 5. So i recommend you to build backlinks as much as possible
If they are not from spam sites or involved in blackhat tactics and a link with your keyword in the anchor text plus the website is related with your website, then you could get back to pr4 or probably 5.
Depends on too many other things. These two links you got are good, but you are going to need a lot more. And btw, did those two sites link to you by themselves, because they liked that article you mentioned? If they did, it means you have chances of getting more natural links, which is great.
It's hard to tell. We can't predict what the pagerank will be exactly. Two backlinks from high pr sites might or might not be able to jump your PR to the next level.
If the two links from PR6 sites that you mentioned above is placed at the homepage of the sites, and they are dofollow, PR5 is achievable.
