Hi everybody, I need logo drafts for an activity platform. Not much thought has been spend on design so far, so I'm hoping for your creativity! - the platform's purpose is to help people to (a) find new friends with the same interests, and (b) meet these people for activities (e.g. hiking in a group) - the type of the activities is open, they might be sports, cultural, recreative, educational, ... - the main target group are singles between 20 and 40 - the platform's name is "spontacts" (short for spontaneous activities) - the domain name will be spontacts.com, and probably other top-level domains (spontacts.ch, spontacts.de, ...) - all design aspects are still open, so you're free to experiment and realize your ideas. This includes colors, fonts, size etc. I hope to see many different designs! - I'll give feedback for the entries, and will try to keep the change-loops to a minimum - the drafts I like best (ideally around 5) will be awarded with 10 $ each (Paypal payment) - these logos will be the base for a webdesign contest, and possibly for the final webpage - deadline for entries is August 17 (Monday) As the logo will be used on a webpage, the classic size would be somewhere around 200x100. But if you come up with a brilliant idea that is 800x50, then don't let the thinking in default sizes kill it. Be creative Feel free to ask questions, I'll try to answer them in a timely manner. Hey, thanks for this contest. I've created 5 different logos. I've chosen a simple font called Arial. These logos resemble different aspects of social meetings. I've chosen a relaxing red as background, off course that can be changed to something else, even transparent. Wow, that was quick I like the simplicity of your entries, they look modern. 4 and 5 look a lot like a dating site (which it spontacts shouldn't be), but I still like 4. 2 is also very nice.

adwaitk007: I like the idea of people forming a crown, kind of say "the customer is king" It might be nice to have some activities symbolized, people getting together. It's all about doing something in the real world. Transporting that message in the image is the real challenge. Cheers!

background can be changed to any other colour exept white, because of the text stroke the font used is fun that's why i thought it would fit nicley with the spontanious theme.
Whoa, this competition really took off It's great to see so many ideas! ipdesign: It took me a while to realize the "A" symbolizes two persons. The idea is good, but maybe a bit abstract. Wickedd: Your entry looks quite technical. I haven't figured out the red tag yet - what does it symbolize? Most of the platform's audience will be non-techies, so I guess a logo that puts the activities into the center will have the best effect. phangan: The flying silhouettes are a great idea, I like it very much! They symbolize the "getting active together" message perfectly. I especially like the ones in the middle (left column, second logo from top). Wonder what it would look like in color! Mike S.: I like the colors, how you separate "spont" from "acts". The grass and clouds are very nice, they make it look less technical. Adding silhouettes and/or symbols for people/activities would probably help transport the message better, but it's already a good entry as it is now cheesy: Are you the designer behind the twitter logo? The font is a good choice, but the concept heads into the wrong direction. It looks too technical.
witcher: Your first entry looks modern, I like the "knobs", although I don't know what they're symbolizing. I like the overall look of the logo too. The speech balloon is a good symbol for people communicating, but the activities are missing. As an idea, how about activity symbols on the "knobs"? The small knob is probably too small to display a symbol, but the other 5, e.g. one for Entertainment, one for Cultural activities, one for Education, one for Recreation, and one for Sports? Second entry: Working with silhouettes are good, as it makes clear that the platform is about people. But somehow, this logo looks very static - my first thought was "discussion forum", there's not much life in it, I miss the "activity" part. shawnmcterry: Thank you for your artistic entry - that's a new direction in this contest I like the colors, and the hand prints as a background. Can you get some symbols for people and/or activities into this one?
Alright, here is my update. I think I like the original more (as this one takes away your eyes away from the sites name). I def like the way the design looks on a blue background (so if you choose my design, a blue background might def be the way to go). However, I really cannot spend much more time on this contest if any as I have already spent a lot of time designing this for the possibility of $10. I apologize for the attachments. For some reason, the images aren't showing up as hosted from photobucket. I am going to post the link anyway. If anybody can see the image, please let me know so I can confirm that the image loading problem is only occuring on my end.
I have three logo prepositions. --- --- --- I see that the pic came out a little blurred. I think there was a problem in exporting the image. Don't worry about that.
