Quick Logo Contest - $35 prize

Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at this so forgive me if I forget anything.

I'm looking for a pretty simple logo design for my site eMeLBe.com. The site is about baseball and I am focusing on sort of the historical aspects etc.

I'd like to keep in the black and white color scheme (I think) but I'm open to other ideas too.

Also I'm hoping to get something that I can use for my banner across the top but also scales down to some sort of recognizable favicon etc.

There might be more than one winner, and the winner(s) will be paid via PayPal.

Bah! I knew I would. Um there's no real rush on this as its just a hobby of mine. Lets say 12/15 at noon (central standard time). If that's not enough time let me know. (sorry for the newbish nature of this whole thread lol).

 

Wow... that was fast Sniper. I'm a little worried about the detail on scaling that logo down to favicon size. Also it reminds me of something I've seen before but can't place it (not that it's the same, just has a similar feel). I do like the "old school" feel of it though... The font seems a bit in your face too... Thanks for the crazy fast response though. This place is awesome.

Snk, Thanks a million for your entry. I like the script you used as it kind of plays up the "old school" feel I'm going for. My biggest concern is I think I need to capitalize the name in this manner eMeLBe.com to make it stand out to people that this site is about MLB (Major League Baseball). Also, I think it's a bit too close to RotoWorld's logo. Their site is quite well known and I wouldn't want to be seen as a knock off of theirs.

Also, I'm aiming for a sort of Cooperstown (the baseball hall of fame), old timers, history of the game type feel. I'd even be interested to see something done in a sort of sepia tone or old photograph type feel to it as well. Possibly an old newspaper headline or something along those lines? I'm just throwing ideas out there in hopes it will inspire someone.

I've try with eMeLBe word but these old school fonts are not appropriate to write mauisc letters inside the word like this:

I like the look of that bottom font. Possibly in black combined with a logo of some sort? Thanks again for your participation!

Ooh hitman, I like it quite a bit. It seems a little dark to me in the outline around the entire thing. Maybe make that white (i think its gray right now)

Another possible avenue to pursue would be some sort of play on the MLB logo. Obviously I wouldn't want to infringe on their trademark, however something legally similar would be interesting to see.

Sorry I thought you just wanted a logo not a full scale banner? Which is it?

 

A logo is what I'm looking for. I figured a banner would be too much work for only 35 bucks but if you'd like to include the logo in a banner that's fine too. To be honest I didn't expect so much response.

@freelance, I think it's a tad too bland. I realize when working with black and white etc you don't have a lot of options but it doesn't really jump out at me. Also I don't know about substituting the batter for the L as the shapes aren't the same.
