A search box is a useful revenue generator to offer users the ability to search outside your site and gain revenue at the same time. My review is based on a few quick tests, previously I was receiving 50 searches a day using Ask Jeeves at about 0.04 a click. Clicksor (www.clicksor.com) Seems to pick up page impressions but paid me only 0.40 a day for my searches. Searchfeed (www.searchfeed.com) Customisable search html template seemed a bonus, but the keywords used in my searches didn't show many results - hence 0 revenue a day. 3FN (http://marketing.3fn.net/) Never came across this site before and seemed good in that it asks you to confirm your submitted urls by placing comment tags on the sites. However, I generated 45 searches but only got paid for 3 clicks. I asked the Support team and was told "Please submit more quality traffic", I'm awaiting a new reply - but don't think it was very helpful. For my 3 clicks I got paid 0.02 cents. I've heard about Google's Adsense search box but was hoping to steer away from Adsense for once. Any one else can positive/negative experiences with the above or have used other search boxes?
This year my stats with G Search Box is as follows: On english pages $0.068 / click On spanish pages $0.047 /click
Wow that's pretty high for Google - any non Google sites out there, just getting a bit fed up with G at the moment!
