I'm currently working on a link-building campaign for some of my sites (not niche sites). I just thought, what if I get around 100 bookmarks each day having almost the same anchor text as the other backlinks (somehow spammy), will it raise a red flag to google or will everything just end up like ordinary backlinks producing link juice?
If you generate 100 backlinks a day I do believe Google will penalize your site in its searches. It also depends on how new your site is. If your sites are old (several years), then it will not look as bad to Google as if your sites where very new. If new then you want to gradually build your backlinks week by week, increasing the number of new links each week.
Yes it is, don't go to be hurry, SEO is a solo and steady job and that is the Search engine friendly way, so dont go as rocket.
are you talking about bookmarks or backlinks? Backlinks will most definitely raise the flag. Slow down...as they say slow and steady wins the race...always emulate the tortoise over the hare...
this same question is asked about once a month 100 backlinks a day isn't going to get you flagged 1,000 links a day isn't going to either Don't listen to anyone that tells you otherwise. get 10-20,000 backlinks a day and google will notice
A steady, focussed approach to link building is definitely the way to go. If you stick with it, the long term payback will be far more rewarding. It's not a sprint it's a marathon. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey!
I recently tried a service (that I do not recommend) called SEO Heaven. It claimed to build 1000 backlinks. I used the service to link to some new web 2.0 pages (Squidoo, etc) and I've found almost 200 links showing up in Yahoo Site Explorer. But guess what? The target isn't even indexed in Google! I think when Google sees a ton of low quality links showing up like this, it (at best) discounts them and (at worst) may penalize your site. I think you're better off using more slow & steady approaches. With the article marketing services I use my links build up slowly over time (because they all use some kind of "dripping" approach) and this seems to be much more effective.
Mix up your anchor text, mix up the type of sites you're getting links from...don't spam because 100 social bookmark postings to lousy content isn't going to do anything.
Define 'natural' link-building. don't you think a thousand is not that much for google to notice? Can you give examples of the 'types of websites' I can post on getting the anchor text for the keyword I'm competing?
If it is a new website and you start to build spammy backlinks, there is a high chance of being sandboxed, your better off slowly building backlinks to new website, I also suggest you start building high PR backlinks, although there is a good chance you won't be sandboxed for building links. It all depends on how your building the links really. I'd suggest you start with 20/per day, then slowly increase this number, you want your backlinks to grow a small number each day, I wouldn't suggest building a large amount of backlinks, then afterwards not any, you need to have a constant flow of backlinks in order to slowly rise in the SERPs.
