Quick Gaming Domain Issue

    Hey,

I was looking at becoming an affiliate for an upcoming game that will be released in March/April. I went on the hunt to find some domains to get the site up and running. The best domains I could find that were still available had the game name in the domain.

I went to the official game site and at the bottom of their site, it said that certain parts were registered trademarks of the company but no where did it mention that that game title is trademarked.

I did a little research and the game name did pop up in certain trademark search engines as being registered to that company.

But since I would be using the domain as helping the company do better by selling their products, would it be trademark infringe?

    Any advice would help,

    Thanks,

Unless you get a written consent/authorization from that company, you are just committing a trademark infringement.
    Good luck :)

If you are assisting an organisation they may choose not to enforce their IP rights. That doesn't mean you aren't infringing on their IP nor that they cannot at a later date decide to enforce them.

Always best to get written consent before buying a domain containing someone elses trademark
