    - firstly, how do you get rid of a domain name you have if it has not expired? (in otherwords the expiry date is later this year but is there anyway to put it in the open so that someone else can take it? as I no longer have use for it

    - secondly, how do you find all the previous owners of a domain name?

    Thanks

You can transfer the name to someone's account.

Some registrars allow deleting the domain and making it available for the public to register it again. I suggest that instead of deleting the domain, give it to someone who is in need.

The answer to the other question is to try domaintools.com. But you will have to buy a subscription in order to view the registrant history.

In my knowledge, as per ICANN rules, a Domain can be deleted only within 5 days of its registration..after that you cannot DELETE the Domain name.. You can choose not to renew it and it will automatically get deleted after 75 days of its expiry..

You can use DomainTools.Com's whois history service to view the previous owners of the domain.

You can not delete the domain if it is more than 5 days old. You can sell it to someone if it is older than 5 days,

Either you can gift them to someone or just delete it which has no use and you've no time to manage.
