Hello all, I hope this is the right Forum, I couldn't find an 'Analytics' one or something along those lines. Anyway, I've been looking at my Google Analytics for my site, and I've noticed this metric called Bounce Rate. I was wondering what it means in terms of site ranking. Also, if someone could explain the very basics of it, that would be great. For example: Both Google and Alexa say I have an 18.7% bounce rate. Is that bad? Does that mean only 18% of my users stay, or the opposite, only 18% leave? With that in mind, is having a higher or lower bounce rate a good thing? Thanks in advance for any help with these seemingly nooby questions, I don't know much about SEO / Analytics in general. - Kovacic
If you have low bounce rate , you website loves by visitors. And google give more preference. If you have high bounce rate , you need to improve your website (content, design etc).
18% would be considered very good. It means only 18% of visitors land on a page in your site and dont end up clicking on something else within your site. Lower bounce rate means visitors are more engaged with your site and is generally good for rankings.

nice and talk about 18% bounce rate so don't scared it's fine and after some time your bounce rate will be fine
Hi, Obviously, lower bounce rate is good for SEO. Bounce rate means the percentage of visitors who enter the site and leave the site within the specific time. Means the site is not related to visitors and that is very bad for SEO. Your site bounce rate is good but you should reduce the bounce rate as much as possible.
In simplest words, how much a visitor stay on your page is called bounce rate? your bounce rate is good.
It's a very good bounce rate and it also means that visitors of your site are satisfied with the info you create! Google rank sites based on bounce rate also! In fact, it's probably one of the major factors nowadays!
