Quick Blogger Question

I have a quick question about blogger.

I made changes to the HTML template of my blog. If I were to change the template, would I loose my edits?

I'm not sure how the specific engine you're using works, but generaly if you change the skin you change all the code

No. You can do anything with coding for blogger.
I have edited my templates many times. You can do also just take a backup everytime you need to edit.

I tried it and what I can say is, if you keep the widgets intact, you need not lose all your customization. Ofcourse, if you change entire template then you lose all your customization
