From what I'm getting about PR google updates everyone's PR every so often? This seems kind of weird, is this right? Or do high ranking sites get updated more often, low ranking not as often? Does anybody know how the PR updates are done?
They all get updated at the same time (although there can be very minor adjustments or corrections on a site level) Its been running every 3-4 months although getting more and more inconsistent.
So called "real PR" is updated more or less continuously, Toolbar PR about once every 3 months, but it seems there are minor changes for relatively few sites in between the TPR updates.
Has anyone ever proved any correlation between real PR and toolbar PR. Everyone talks about real PR, but where is the evidence that real PR is different from toolbar PR?
To me the biggest evidence of this is that there is nearly no change the day of or after a "toolbar" update. There are however daily changes that would seem to show that your backlinks are being recognized (the Coop is a good example) It isn't concrete but certianly if the Toolbar WAS the real PR you would expect to notice something when your site went from a 0 to a 4
Dunno how PR Works but i opened my site on March 22nd, 2005 brand new domain and when google updated its PR it went to a PR 4 At the moment i am just getting it hand submitted to as many search engines and directories as i can
There was a Google Toolbar PR update about a week or so ago. So if you had launched your site after it would still say 0. Actual PageRank must update far more regularly, the toolbar PR is designed to give an idea of the quality of the site, not give any exact details - It has turned slightly into an alexa kind of thing where it bothers people more than visitors or revenue
