I have an adwords account where I owe money now for over 5 months

I could not pay it because I was in another country and for some reason

    my card was declined.

Now I want to pay the debt, do you think if I pay it the account would

start working again? They forwarded the account to their "external

collection agency" what does that mean?

    Thank you

    Hi!

There are high chances that you are now considered as a fraudster according to Google.
Usually they simply prevent any fraudster from advertising again. How can they identify you as a fraudster? many things like cookies, credit card number, login IP Address, contact name, billing name, email addresses, etc.
If your account is still active and you do want to pay, you can try. But afterwards it's up to the fraud team to decide if they will allow you a second chance or not. If you do so, don't hesitate to write them emails explainig this. Many emails. Mention second chance in the subject. But if you have other adwords accounts in this case, forget about it, they won't let you advertise again.

    Hi,

I think it's worth you coming clean with Google, paying your debt and see if you can resume your account with them.

Google offers 2 methods of payment; both Prepay (before your ads run) and Post pay (pay after your ads run). See google info below

To change from one to the other though, I believe you need to close your account and open a new one.

You really don't want to upset Google. Do what it takes to make them feel high and mighty. Crawl on your knees if you have to.

    Pay them Immediately.
Change your credit card info to a new active card.
If that does not work, inform them you are closing your old account and opening a new one using a different card.
Apologize, apologize, apologize and explain to them why for five months you could not take any action. It better be believable.
