In my account it says: Current Balance (GBP £104.28) in the Billing Summary. Is this credit or money I have to pay?

I had a promo code a few months ago, so I am hoping that this money is from the code and not something I have to pay.

    thanks.

Generally if the balance is £104.28 thats what you owe, if it were to be -£104.28 thats what you would be in credit. Seems weird i know, but thats how it is.

It's more weird because I haven't used my account since 2007. Would it help if I showed a screenshot?

    Hi,

That is strange, however, since you have not used since 2007 does not mean there is not an outstanding balance :) lets have a look at the screen shot, i will compare to our own.

Normally when your account is overdue your campaigns would be suspended, and you would have a notification in your control panel. Do you have either of these?

Yeah sounds like an amount outstanding from 2007. Unless you have accidently had some campaigns running you didn't know about. Try get a report from 2007 to the current date and see if their is a breakdown of this amount you owe.

There are no mentions of outstanding payments, but it's a bit strange if they only bill every £500 because someone might only use their account for £499.

Thats definitely what you owe unfortunately. It might be a billing mistake, you can try contacting support. Google likes to continually change things, so there is room for errors to be made.

Yep i totally agree, thats what you owe :( however to clear up your £499 question, the way it works is you get billed every £500 or per month, which ever comes first, so if you hit £500 mid month your billed for that and if you hit £499 by then end of the month your subseqently billed for that.

I just had a look at my billing reports and I have attached what it shows. I think it is credit rather than debit!

    Hi,

Im very confused i have to say. Were you a pre-paid or post paid customer? When ever there is an outstanding balance in "our adwords" account it should as £100 for example, if were in credit (when google issue us credits for invalid clicks) it would goto say -£10.00

Have you run a billing report, maybe look at your last invoice. If adwords are not wanting payment (and not taken payment) then the emphasis is you ARE in credit.

Like I said in my first post I had a promo code which I think is what the balance is. I wan't pre-paid.

The screenshot is from my last billing, so I think I am in credit :)
