Note: This contest is a continuation of a previous contest. Because the client changed the logo criteria, a new contest is being done. But worry not - we pay on every contest that we do. You may refer to the following link to the original contest: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/quick-35-vector-logo-contest.2685727/page-2#post-18759636 My client is The Willes Entrepreneurship Center. The look that the client is going for with this Logo contest: Professional, clean, innovative, and creative. The logo should look good in black and white (or submitted together with a black and white version). The color version should match the following colors – Primarily, crimson (#9E1B34), with black and/or white. Gold (#AA800E) or gray (#CED306) may also be included. The client does not want a text or letter-based logo. They want an icon that will symbolize the organization. Also, the client would like to encourage participants to be careful not to over-emphasize "Willes" compared to "entrepreneurship." The contest will run for 48hrs or until a clear winner is chosen. The winner will need to provide the logo in vector and PSD. All questions and submission must be submitted through the thread. I will not take any PM-ed designs or questions. The winning designer will receive $35, paid through paypal. Please let me know in the thread if you have any questions. Below are 4 samples of logos the client has provided, and what the client likes about the particular logo. The client likes the visual of showing an idea or product being created or born with this organica logo. It fits well with entrepreneurship and innovation. The client likes the sense of action/motion with this NCAA logo. It could indicate that things are happening at the Willes Center, and the Center can make things happen for students. The client also likes logos that can creatively use negative space, like the ones above. If you wish to use negative space with a letter, please only use "W." The client really likes the composition of text within the media kitchen image.
Along with JPDevuyst I will be moderating this contest. I'm excited to see what you will be able to come up with. If you have any questions or concerns make sure to leave them on this thread, not as a PM. Thank you!
@digital_irfan and @sapart, Thank you for your submissions, however please take a minute to read some of the design guidelines regarding the desired color palette. I like the direction its going but the color is going to need to fit within the guidelines. Thank you! Crimson (#9E1B34), with Black and/or White. Gold (#AA800E) or Gray (#CED306)
Initial Feedback: Here is the current logo used by the Willes Center, with the neck-tie concept. The client has indicated that they aren't happy with that kind of look.
@natali77 - I like the creativity, but I'm not sure the client will go for that particular look. The client may interpret it as something with horns or a batman symbol.
@guideline thank you for responding to the invite. In the design brief above there was a line that read "The client does not want a text or letter-based logo. They want an icon that will symbolize the organization. Also, the client would like to encourage participants to be careful not to over-emphasize "Willes" compared to "entrepreneurship." So with the first logo, I would venture to say that we should move away from the "W". As for the second submission, I like the creative thinking, it is something new that I haven't seen before-but I think the final result looks like a wagon wheel. Just wanted to reiterate to everyone that the client is looking for an icon that screams- entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity. Thank you to everyone who has submitted so far!
@nittadevy Before I present your logo to the client, would it be possible to re-work your design to look similar to the circle being a bit more dynamic and the outer-edges looking a little more like hands? I think the client may be interested in that. @good designer - My client may find your design a little bit too busy or "tech-like" - I'll have better feedback for you after meeting with the client. Thank you everyone for your submissions thus far - seeing some great work!
@puttu, @logoesdesign @sapart, Thank you for the submissions, I think we need to go back again to the contest description. "The client does not want a text or letter-based logo. They want an icon that will symbolize the organization." I think the submissions are creative, they just don't make one think of Entrepreneurship. Keep tweaking the logos, you're doing great work!
