Hello guys , well i am not that much into proxies (i just have a top sites list at the moment) but i want to start soon my first proxy network.

I have several questions about that attempt.

Out there there are alot of proxy scripts , but which one of them is the best to work with ? saving bandwidth and cpu resources?

Suppose that i've choose the software , what about hosting? which is the best company out there with the best rates that is ok with proxy hosting?

And what about monetizing the site? Google adsense on the main site and at the proxyfied pages what?

(i know that to some of you those questions may sound silly but after all that's my first try to enter the proxy business :p )

I'm looking forward for your advices , tips , what "to do" and what "not to do"

Personally I use Glype and it works brilliant, really happy with it, although PHProxy is also pretty good. Hosting wise it really depends, there are so many packages out there. I know TMZ Hosting is popular as well as iWhic, but personally I use a package from a member here on DP and it works fine, just do a post in the Web Hosting section with your requirements.

You can put Adsense on the main page, but you aren't allowed to put it on the profixed pages. I think Adbrite and Adversal do let you have ads on profixed pages, though, but having ads on these pages often discourages users from returning, so it might be best to not advertise on the profixed pages.

Anybody doing a reverse Squid network? That would really speed up the visitors experience, while letting you replace advertisements and farm keywords. You would also save bandwidth because you can have multiple proxy nodes that talk with one another, delta-based caching between your nodes, and tie into other proxy networks collaboratively.

    Best,

    Justin

At the moment not much, I have a network of 11 proxies which are relatively small, but they've used around 4GB of bandwidth so far this month I think.

Stoneworth, this must be the most blatant post count bumping I've ever seen! Reported the post, and hopefully you'll get banned

Even kinda old thread of mine, i would still like to hear more opinions by experienced proxy owners on subjects such as :
    Which script to ise
Which proxy host actually works better
    Which advertise networks to choose
    etc....
