Hi guys,i read lot of threads here related to promoting CB affiliate products with bum marketing,to be honest i never tried bum marketing,i am not a good writer also but i do make clickbank sales using PPC but it is getting very competitive nowadays, specially with clickbank products,u will normally see 3-5 adword ads as for almost same clickbank products. Also i am more into CPA networks and make a decent money with them using ppc. Before i get stared with bum marketing,i have few basic questions.....

What type of products are recommended to promote via bum marketing, those with low or high gravity?

Do i need to write 1 article per product or multiple articles for same product?

Do i need a landing page for each of the product i promote via Bum Marketing?

Is it possible to redirect visitor form my Resource box to my affiliate sales page using redirect?

I know about ezine directory, what are the other best places to submit articles?

Is is ok to submit same articles to all article directories or all articles should be unique?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hey, bro!

Your 1st and 2nd questions are easy to answer - If you had success selling CB products using PPC - same products will convert using BUM. And If you know that a product sells well - the write as many articles as you can, using different keyword phrases - your goal here is to dominate the niche.

Let's say you have written 100 articles on a specific niche, chances are that at least a few of these articles will end up on the first page of search engines. If you write good quality articles - they will also spread all over the internet. 95% of them will still have YOUR link - so more sales for you.

You can direct visitors from an article STRAIGHT to the sales page ONLY if u register a domain which will forward (redirect). However, this does not apply to all Article directories, some let you put an affiliate link such as ID.Product.Clickbank...

EzineArticles is the most popular and most loved by Google (as far as I know) But GoArticles is also popular, Article Dahsboard, iSnare - to name a few.

Your best bet is to write ORIGINAL UNIQUE articles - this will also give you more chances to rank high on Search Engines... In the worst case, submit an article to EzineArticles, wait a week or too - then post it everywhere else.

    Hope this helped a bt.

There is no best way to do things. Test things and see what works. You could have one landing page promoting multiple products, or separate landing pages promoting a single product.

Thanks for replying bro, does ezine allow redirect (from my domain ) to affiliate sales page?

I do know what converts (atleast using PPC ) and got better idea now.I prefer 1 landing page per product.

Lol,posting on forum is lot easier than writing an article, regarding outsourcing, yes i do use getafreelancer for some projects.

Hi getjimmy, to answer your questions :) :

What type of products are recommended to promote via bum marketing, those with low or high gravity?
    - both. No matter it has low or high gravity, as long as it is a product that sells, you will make some decent money by driving targeted traffic to them. ]

Do i need to write 1 article per product or multiple articles for same product?
    - multiple articles

Do i need a landing page for each of the product i promote via Bum Marketing?
    - yes, but you can use redirection too.

Is it possible to redirect visitor form my Resource box to my affiliate sales page using redirect?
    - yes, but if you are eubmtting to Ezinearitcles, you will need a domain as redirection

I know about ezine directory, what are the other best places to submit articles?
    - I only submit to Ezinearticles

Is is ok to submit same articles to all article directories or all articles should be unique?
    - yes, I always do so, didn't really face the problem of content duplication as said by others

I do it. Ezine allows me, I don't see why they wouldn't let you do the same ;)

This is exactly my point. If you see conversions with PPC, it WILL convert if you use Article Marketing as well...

Well, everything is already answered, so there is nothing add, except few tips.

    1. Don't waste your time on submitting your articles to hundreds of directories, as they bring you very little or almost no traffic. Instead concentrate on the big ones, such as:

    Ezinearticles.com
    Goarticles.com
    Isnare.com
    Searchwarp.com

I personally submit only to Ezine, because it's the best one. Make sure you have a top-level domain (www.example.com) redirecting to your affiliate link in the resource box, otherwise they will not accept your articles, as they do not allow affiliate links.
Or you could write an article on Ezine and then point your article to Squidoo or Hubpages or Blogger, or anywhere else where you want to write a review of the product promoting.

    2. Write honest articles, and personalize them. Talk about yourself, how it helped you. Don't make your article to look like a sales page. Of course, you can mention some things from the sales later, but don't over do it.

    3. You can always do a search on Google on "product name review" and find many other articles. Then you will have an idea how it looks like, and how you can write yours.

And the last thing to mention, don't except immediate results. Bum Marketing is free, that's why things doesn't happen overnight, like in PPC ;) So when you have written some articles, they might not make you anything for the first month, but then next month they will bring you few sales.

    hey...

getjimmy i'm a really big fan of urs.. i've followed your blog a while back and totally admire what u'r doing with ur sites and monetizing them of adsense and similar networks. just go to show a person can't dominate all markets or at least that easily...

one bit I wanted to add about liking to yourdomain.com and have that redirect to a CB (or other networks) product page.. In theory I think that's NOT allowed. I myself have had an article or two originally accepted and sent live and then a few days later rejected. and ezine stating they don't allow articles that directly promote affiliate links. Though I wasn't, I was redirecting from my domain to the affiliates domain. I guess it's a matter of being able to get away with it.

If someone notices it they might disapprove your article even after it had been published.

    Hi,

I personally do not use bum marketing on clickbank products (yet) I have done it for other programs though and I think thats where I have received most of my funds.

What I would recommend (and what i plan to do when i get time)

Is to go into the market place and pick 10 products, create 10+ articles for each product (pick products you think you could write about) Submit these articles and see how they preform.

For products that do not preform very well, simply remove and carry on or remove and replace with a new product niche.

At first if your not a great writer concentrate on some products you think you could write about and once you make your first couple of sales and you get that nice first check. Dont spend it! Stick it back online, bang it into getafreelancer and use it to pay for articles to be written.

I have had deals such as articles for as low as $3, once they are done simply review them and stick them in your chosen article directory. While there also being written you could work on your own articles.

Anyway just me rambling on now :) Good Luck :)

so if google finds some ezine article, later published on 100 other article directories say a month later than the original article was accepted,-who does google penalize? The 100 articles in different directories and/or the ezine article ?

So your saying when an ezine employee checks the resource box link and is directed from a (dot).com URL (your own) to the sales page run cars on water sales page- That's ok? Really?

Google doesn't penalize for duplicate content, it just doesn't like it and sometimes doesn't index it.

About the affiliate links on Ezine read this. I hope it clears everything out:

Affiliate links will be allowed if the link is a domain name you own which forward/redirects to the affiliate link from the top-level of the domain name. For example, it is permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

    http://your-company-name.com/

...but it would not be permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

    http://your-company-name.com/page.html
    http://your-company-name.com/subdirectory/
    http://your-company-name.com/subdirectory/page.html
    http://sub-domain.your-company-name.com/

Any article with an affiliate link that does not adhere to this guideline will cause the article to be rejected.

thats what i'm saying though- if u have an EA at 4th spot say- and u then hit up load of art directories- it kind of defeats the objective for seo traffic if google then decides not to index the EA.

thanks, I didn't realize you could do this- in effect skipping a landing page- straight to products sales page-i'll give it a go- cheers

Great thread! (will rep everyone that I learned from!)
I love the " URL redirect" idea...currently I have about 200 parked domains (keyword and short name)..so what I been thinking is to take my "low paying keyword domains" and then finding a product at CB that matches that keyword!
Then redirecting that domain (love godady free redirect) to my affliate page!

Thanks again everyone for sharing and participating...this "old dog" can learn new tricks!

Usually you'd link to the merchant's sales page, but you can do that as long as you've cookied them before.

But what if I have a comparison landing page that has "buy now" links on it? Could I make my reference link in my article point to the landing page that compares various products? The vendor pages, at least the way that Regnow does it, don't ever get cookied because my affiliate sales link goes right to an order form run by Regnow itself for the vendor's product.

Yesterday I was reading through the ezine articles by TimG to get a look at his sites. Many of the articles point to sites or pages which no longer exist. What a waste.

There has to be a better way. Let's say you wanted to sell weight loss pills.
Wouldn't it make sense to make an actual site about weight loss with information on the subject?

Then you write and publish articles about pills, all pointing to a page on your site which has a review of the product and a link to the vendor's sales page.
The advantage is that if that particular product doesn't sell you can always rewrite the page for a different product without losing all your articles.

Plus, all the backlinks go the one site which would build it's ranking as an authority site. Obviously you could make different pages for different products as long as they all had something to do with weight loss.

Now if you wanted to get really sneaky, you could wait until your articles had been accepted then go to your pill page and put a java redirect to bounce visitors directly to the vendor's sales page.
The risk being that if the article site caught you they would no doubt kick your butt. :)
