    Just consider this:

100,000 visitors a day to your website
At 5% CTR you get 5000 that actually click on these ads
At each click worth $0.05 you get $250 a day.

    Does this sound right?

Yep, but that's a ton of traffic. It would be very hard to get that much.

The maths is right, the problem is getting the traffic

yeah that is a big problem but if they are regular users of the system, does that mean that the ctr is too high and is the 0.05c per click too high?

I think 0.05c per click is a little low, but it depends on what your topic is. If a lot of your visitors are return visitors, CTR would be way less than 5%.

    0.05 is lowwwww.

    but I think if I have 100k unique visitors a day, I couldn't get %5 CTR

    LOL

well some website might get higher.

100,000 visitors and 1% CTR is more realistic.

If you are getting 100,000 uniques a day you'd want to be pulling more than $250 I'd imagine. Remember that CTR is based on impressions not uniques. So say you actually pull off a 2% CTR with 100,000 uniques a day you might expect 500,000 impressions, and you'd also hope that you topic is earning you a little better than $.05, I don't know what your topic is but I don't think $.1 is ambitious.

    So that's: 500,000 x .02 x $.1 = $1000/day

That is with the same uniques, but now just factored as impressions - as adsense would do it, and 2% CTR which is a lot more reasonable, hopefully getting you around 10cents a click (again far from outrageous). Wow $1000/day, it's so easy when you work it out like that...

Now all you need is the traffic... :p
